You still have good options today.
- Every state bar association runs a free lawyer referral service — search "your state bar lawyer referral."
- The steps in our after-a-crash guide apply everywhere: get examined, document everything, and don't give the other insurer a recorded statement yet.
- Deadlines exist in every state, active or not — confirming yours with a licensed attorney costs nothing and can't wait.
